The National Association of Wetland Managers (“NAWM”) issued a document titled:
Wetland Program Plans Handbook (“Handbook”).
The Handbook is stated to have been developed as part of a project by NAWM to:
… provide states and tribes with information about how to develop Wetland Program Plans (“WPPs”).
The updated Handbook reflects state experience, best practices, and lessons learned since the original handbook was published in 2013.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds provided funding, and the Handbook is authored by:
- Donna Downing, with co-authors:
- Portia Osborne
- Marla Stelk
- Laura Burchill
NAWM describes its mission as to:
… build capacity for state and tribal members and foster collaboration among the wetland community of practice by encouraging the application of sound science to wetland management and policy, promoting the protection and restoration of wetlands and related aquatic resources, and providing training and education for members and the general public.
