Mitchell Williams is dedicated to advancing the practice of law and advocating for the legal profession. We support legal education, diversity within the profession and opportunities for students to work within our firm. Here is how we actively support the legal community:
- Attorneys are actively involved in leadership roles in state and local Bar Associations that includes service on boards, chairing committees and committee service.
- Pledged a multi-year financial commitment to create the Mitchell Williams Excellence Initiative at the University of Arkansas School of Law to support the Constitution Days Delta Initiative and the Business Law Program.
- Volunteer as guest lecturers in the classrooms and serving in advisory capacity on the University of Arkansas School of Law’s Business Law Advisory Board.
- Created the Mitchell Williams Legal Diversity Fellowship at the University of Arkansas School of Law to enhance diversity education and efforts among students.
- Award the H. Maurice Mitchell Leader in Law Scholarship to the chair of the Board of Advocates at the University of Arkansas School of Law annually.
- Award the H. Maurice Mitchell Leaders in Law Scholarship to the Moot Court board chair at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law annually.
- Support of the LEAP program, as well as related programs, at the University of Arkansas Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law.
- Redesigned our law clerk interview and evaluation processes to control for implicit bias in the hiring process and participate in on campus interviews.
- Coordinate a law clerk program offering four-sessions annually to provide law students the opportunity to actively assist lawyers working across all practices and gain skills necessary to excel in the practice of law.
- Hosted welcome receptions for the University of Arkansas School of Law and the University of Arkansas Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law first year law students.
