The Solar Energy Industries Association (“SEIA”) publishes on a periodic basis various information regarding solar energy in the United States.
SEIA describes itself as:
... leading the transformation to a clean energy economy.
SEIA states that it works with 1,200 member companies and other strategic partners to fight for policies that create jobs in every community and shape fair market rules that promote competition and the growth of reliable, low-cost solar power.
Recent data produced by SEIA includes a state-by-state analysis of facts regarding solar energy development.
The section addressing Arkansas states that its data is current through the third quarter of 2025.
Key statistics include:
- National solar capacity ranking – 18th.
- Solar installed (MW) – 3,503.
- Enough solar installed to power 407,474 homes.
- Percentage of state’s electricity from solar – 7.5%.
- Solar jobs – 428.
- Solar companies in the state – 43 (14 manufacturers, 14 installers/developers, 15 others).
- Solar investment in Arkansas - $4.7 billion.
- Prices have fallen 42% over the last ten years.
- Growth projection and ranking – 2,509 MW over next five years (ranks 25th).
- Number of installations – 6,398.
- Storage capacity – 95 MWh.
