The Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) issued a November 30th news release stating it will accept proposal submissions for the Reduce Emissions from Diesels (“Go RED!”) program beginning on December 1.
The program provides funding assistance for projects that:
. . . reduce diesel emissions from heavy-duty highway trucks, buses, marine engines, locomotives, and nonroad engines.
Funding is provided by the Diesel Emission Reduction Act.
DEQ states it intends to award up to $800,000 for eligible projects. Such projects are stated to include:
. . . vehicle and equipment replacement, engine replacement, certified remanufacture systems, idle reduction technology, retrofits, clean alternative fuel conversions, and aerodynamic technologies and low rolling resistance tires.
Public and private entities, along with nonprofit organization, in Arkansas are eligible to receive funding.
The DEQ Applicant Guide is available on the Go RED! Webpage. It provides eligibility criteria, funding limits, and detailed instructions on how to apply.
Note that DEQ has established a rolling deadline for applications. The first deadline to apply is December 31, 2021.

• Dardanelle School District—Replaced One School Bus
• Yellville-Summit School District—In Process of Replacing Two School Buses
• Fort Smith School District—In Process of Replacing Three School Buses
• Dover School District—In Process of Replacing One School Bus
