The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and GCP Laboratories, Inc. (“GCP”) entered into an August 18th Agreed Order (“AO”) addressing alleged violations of a Clean Water Act Pretreatment Permit. See Order No. 7742 26.
The AO provides that GCP operates a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Gulf Port, Mississippi.
GCP is stated to have been notified on June 11th of a violation. The facility is stated to have operated without a valid Pretreatment Permit in violation of Miss. Code Ann. § 49-17-29(2)(b). This includes an alleged failure to submit an application for a renewal of the Permit to the Mississippi Environmental Quality Board at least 180 days prior to the expiration date of the Permit.
GCP is stated to have submitted a renewal application for the Pretreatment Permit to the Board on November 5, 2025. On June 11th the Permit Board reissued the Permit.
The AO assesses a civil penalty of $7,500.
