The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) issued a June 22nd news release stating it is proposing citations to TAV Holdings, Inc. (“TAV”).
TAV is described as a recycling company operating a facility (“Facility”) in Atlanta, Georgia.
OSHA is stated to have undertaken an inspection in December 2021 and determined that the Facility:
- Failed to provide workers the safety data sheets for all chemicals used in the Facility
- Did not list the chemicals in the company’s hazard communication program
OSHA states that similar violations had been previously cited at the company’s Greenville, South Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia, facilities.
The news release describes three repeat and 28 serious safety and health violations identified in the current investigation.
Penalties proposed are $311,934.
TAV has 15 days from receipt of the citation and penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
