The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) issued a news release stating that it is proposing to impose penalties against Bio-Lab Inc. (“BLI”).
The news release states that OSHA determined that the BLI facility improperly stored hazardous chemicals which were the cause of a fire at the facility.
The investigation is stated to have determined that the incident originated at a company warehouse storing various chemicals.
OSHA is proposing to cite BLI for two serious and two other than serious violations. $61,473.00 in penalties have been proposed.
BLI has fifteen days from receipt of its citations and penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
