The Arkansas Water Resources Center (“AWRC”) announced an upcoming Arkansas Water Webinar (“Webinar”) addressing Northwest Arkansas springs and imperiled darters.
The Webinar will be held on October 15th from noon to 1 p.m.
The presenter is Zach Moran, who serves as assistant professor of fisheries and wildlife in the Department of Biological and Earth Sciences at Arkansas Tech University.
Professor Moran will present his team’s research on source springs and imperiled fish species in the karst landscape of Northwest Arkansas.
AWRC states that Professor Moran has spent over a decade studying fish and aquatic ecosystems across the southeastern United States. Research interest is stated to include:
- Ecotoxicology
- Ecosystem health
- Biodiversity
- Aquatic species management
Professor Moran has obtained degrees from:
- Virginia Tech
- Arkansas Tech
- Baylor University
