The Federal Timber Purchasers Coalition (“FTPC”) announced its five-person working Board of Directors.
Max Braswell, who serves as Executive Vice President of the Arkansas Forestry Association (“AFA”), has been named one of the five Board Members.
The March 6th AFA Tree Mail newsletter states that the FTPC has been officially launched with the goal of:
… improving the quality, quantity, and operational viability of timber sales from Federal lands.
Further, the organization’s mission is stated to include:
- Serving as the national unified voice of federal timber purchasers/contractors.
- Working to improve the effectiveness, scale, and contract design and implementation of forest service/Board of Land Management timber programs.
- Education and advocacy before executive and legislative officials.
- Carry on the work of the Federal Forest Resource Coalition which allied with industry, conservation, and local government groups to support a growing federal timber program in Washington D.C. over the last decade.
