Three environmental organizations have launched an online search portal titled:
Eyes on Environmental Enforcement (“Portal”).
The environmental organizations include:
- Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility.
- Environmental Data & Governance Initiative.
- ToxicDocs.org.
(Collectively, “PEER”).
PEER states that the Portal:
… gives the public direct access to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforcement records that have been historically difficult to obtain and were not previously available in a searchable, centralized format.
The Portal’s address is www.eyesonenforcement.org.
The Portal’s records include:
- Inspection reports.
- Notices of violation.
- Related documents.
PEER states that it obtained the documents through the federal Freedom of Information Act requests. The time period covered includes 2021-2025 (including some records from 2026).
The records are related to three federal environmental statutes:
- Clean Air Act.
- Clean Water Act.
- Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
