J. Ryan Benefield, P.E. has been named Chief Operating Office at the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority (“LRWRA”).
Mr. Benefield previously served at Deputy Director and Chief Engineer at the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission.
LRWRA states that the Chief Operating Officer has oversight responsibilities for the following areas:
- Engineering.
- Treatment of Facility Operations.
- Maintenance.
Mr. Benefield has 27 years of experience in the following areas:
- Engineering.
- Project design.
- Construction management.
- Project financing.
- Regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission, he served for 11 years at the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment – Division of Environmental Quality as Deputy Director.
Mr. Benefield holds an Arkansas Professional Engineer License and earned his degree in Geological Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
LRWRA is responsible for the collection, treatment, and disposal of reclaimed water. Reclaimed water is carried through more than 1,400 miles of pipeline and 32,000 manholes. The system serves a population of approximately 200,000 through three treatment facilities. Discharged water is required to meet applicable federal and Arkansas water quality standards.
