The Quapaw Quarter Association (“QQA”) announced that Ms. Morgan Weithman will be its next Executive Director.
Morgan is stated to have previously served as QQA’s membership and activities coordinator.
QQA describes its mission as preserving Greater Little Rock's historic places.
Morgan is stated to have graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Arkansas, with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology. Prior to her employment at QQA, she served as the Public Programs Assistant at the Historic Arkansas Museum.
She has been presented various awards for her work in education programs and workshop demonstrations by the Arkansas Museum Association and the Arkansas Living History Association.
QQA states in its news release in part:
... As an award-winning historian, Morgan is dedicated to the cause of historic preservation in central Arkansas and beyond.
Morgan is quoted as stating:
… My work at the Historic Arkansas Museum and the QQA has allowed me to spend time with some of the oldest buildings here in Little Rock, and I have such a deep appreciation and love for the cultural history of this city.
QQA Board President Amber Couch is quoted as stating:
… Morgan has truly been the heart of the QQA and has worked diligently with the board to maintain consistency and focus. It is an honor to promote such a dedicated employee, advocate, and historian to be the QQA’s next executive director.
