Former Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) staff member, Tricia Treece, is on the staff at the Great Plains Institute (“GPI”).
Tricia joined GPI in 2023.
GPI, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, describes itself as a:
…nonpartisan, nonprofit organization… transforming the energy system to benefit the economy and environment.
The organization states its goals for transforming the energy system a include:
- Increase energy efficiency and productivity.
- Decarbonize electricity production.
- Electrify the economy and adopt zero-and-low-carbon fuels.
Tricia serves as a senior policy manager for state climate action planning and implementation on the Energy Systems team at GPI. She works with state governor’s offices and environmental and energy regulators to develop and implement statewide climate and clean energy plans.
At ADEQ Tricia worked in the Office of Air Quality. Her most recent position at the agency was SIP/Planning Supervisor. As a result, she was heavily involved in issues such as Regional Haze planning and Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards maintenance.
