The Arkansas Water Resources Center (“AWRC”) has distributed the agenda for the Arkansas Agriculture, Forests, and Water Conference (“Conference”) that will be held from July 22-24.
The Conference will be held in the Don Tyson Center for Agricultural Sciences in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The AWRC states that the annual event:
…brings together researchers, policymakers, and community members to discuss critical issues shaping Arkansas's natural resources.
50 presentations and 28 poster presentations, along with a field tour are stated to be scheduled. The field tour will visit Leach Ranch, which is described as a 1,000 acres of prairie and post-oak savannah in different phases of restoration.
Presentations are scheduled under the following headings:
- Contaminants of Emerging Concern, Moderator, Erin Grantz, AWRC
- HABs Occurrence and Treatment Technologies, Moderator, Felicia Osburn, ADEQ
- Lake Frances Bottomland Forests, Wetlands and Vision, Moderator Steve Patterson, BXD
- Climate, Hydrologic, and Watershed Drivers of Water Quality, Moderator, Brian Haggard, AWRC
- Welcome and Updates from Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division, Moderator – Tate Wentz
- Groundwater, Droughts, and Agriculture, Moderator Canton Ford, Arkansas NRCS
- Forests, Emerging Marshes and Wetlands, Moderator Joy Wasson, ARFDWC
- Arkansas Water Young Professionals, Moderator – Alyssa Liddle, BWD
- River Conservation Recreation Partnership Planning, Moderator, Darrell Bowman, AGFC
- Restoration Experiences and Lessons Learned Across the Natural State, Moderator, Leif Kindberg, IRWP
