The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment - Division of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) and Union Pacific Railroad Company (“UP”) entered into a August 14th Consent Administrative Order (“CAO”) addressing an alleged violation of an Air Permit. See Case # CAO-26-0031.
The CAO provides that UP operates a locomotive machinery and equipment repair and maintenance facility located in Pulaski County, Arkansas.
The facility is stated to operate pursuant to an Air Minor Source Permit.
UP is stated to have submitted a permit modification application to ADEQ on January 14th. ADEQ is stated to have identified an alleged violation.
The alleged violation includes:
- Operating with unpermitted sources.
A civil penalty of $1,600 is assessed.
