The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment - Division of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) and Lockheed Martin Corporation (“LMC”) entered into a May 22nd Consent Administrative Order (“CAO”) addressing an alleged violation of an air permit. See Case #: CAO-25-0038.
The CAO provides that LMC operates a missile manufacturing facility located in East Camden, Arkansas.
The facility is stated to have been issued a Air Minor Source Permit that it currently holds.
ADEQ is stated to have conducted an air compliance evaluation at the facility on January 30, 2025, covering the reporting period of January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2024. ADEQ personnel are stated to have discovered two unpermitted, natural gas-fired, emergency generators at the site. A third unpermitted, emergency generator was stated to have been identified in an emissions inventory conducted at the site.
On March 25, 2025, LMC provided a written response to ADEQ regarding the actions taken to correct the non-compliance items. Further, on July 9, 2025, ADEQ issued a revised air permit which permitted three emergency generators.
The CAO assesses a civil penalty of $12,000.
A copy of the CAO can be found here.
