“How can effective representation move business forward?”
Attorney Stuart Miller: One of the questions that is kind of always at the forefront of what clients are looking for is “how can you get me out of this?” And sometimes that requires a trial, but I would say in the last probably 10 years, mediation has become a real cornerstone for litigation. A lot of courts require that you mediate, they require that you come together as parties and try to resolve the case before a trial. And quite frankly, it's very successful.
There are a lot of cases that they can't settle or they don't want to settle, and those are the cases that we're able to effectively represent them in court or wherever it might be. Obviously I like to try cases to a jury. I like to represent a client, represent their interests and their integrity. I think just that idea of being able to take a case from the beginning to the end and for them to know that if it does have to go to trial, that they have somebody that can effectively represent them in front of a jury or a judge or a tribunal, whatever it may be.
