Mitchell Williams Welcomes 2025 Fall Term Law Clerks

(Little Rock, Ark.) Four law students have joined Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. as clerks for the 2025 Fall term. The clerks—Maxwell McCastlain and Baker Wells in the Little Rock office, and Claire Heffley and Timothy Luft in the Rogers office—will support attorneys and gain hands-on experience as part of the firm’s longstanding commitment to developing the next generation of legal professionals.
McCastlain is a student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned top paper awards in Research, Writing and Analysis I and II, as well as Real Property I. He currently serves as an apprentice with the UA Little Rock Law Review and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in supply and value chain management, with a minor in finance, from Texas Christian University Neeley School of Business.
Wells, also attending the Bowen School of Law, serves as an apprentice with the UA Little Rock Law Review. He has earned top paper distinctions in Contracts and Torts and contributes as both a teaching assistant and research assistant. Wells earned his Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in Spanish, cum laude, from Hendrix College and a Master of Arts in teaching, with a 4.0 grade point, from the University of Central Arkansas.
In the Rogers office, Heffley is a student at the University of Arkansas School of Law and serves as staff editor for the Arkansas Law Review. She is active in the Women’s Law Student Association as special event chair and served as a 1L representative for the Environmental Law Society. She earned top appellate brief in Legal Research and Writing II, top memo in Legal Research and Writing I and a CALI Award in Legal Research and Writing II. Heffley participated in the International Law Summer Program at Gonzaga University School of Law in Florence, Italy, where she competed in the International Mediation Competition and earned a CALI Award in Environment. Heffley holds a Master of Arts in linguistics from the University of Colorado Boulder and holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations and French, both magna cum laude, from Harding University.
Luft, also based in Rogers, is a student at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he serves as staff editor for the Arkansas Law Review and is a founding member of the St. Thomas More Society. Luft was named Best Oralist for his 1L appellate brief and is a Law Resident Scholarship recipient. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in honors English, magna cum laude, with minors in medieval studies and history from the William J. Fulbright Honors College at the University of Arkansas.
The fall 2025 law clerks will assist attorneys and contribute to ongoing casework, deepening their legal skills and knowledge as they prepare for careers in law.
