Discussed General Data Privacy Regulation and What Privacy Means for Websites

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Attorneys Anton Janik and Mandy Stanton presented at the Little Rock WordPress Meetup held today at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. Their presentation discussed the General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) and explained the importance of data security and privacy in website development.
Janik is an experienced trial attorney with a specialized practice in complex litigation, tax controversies, and cybersecurity, privacy and data protection. Janik advises clients in the areas of investigations and corporate compliance, employee privacy, data protection and social media. He leads the tax controversy and litigation practice area and co-leads the cybersecurity, privacy and data protection practice area. He is a former trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US).
Stanton advises business entities and individuals in commercial transactions including lending, real estate, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, contractual drafting and negotiations and general business matters. Prior to joining Mitchell Williams, she served as legal counsel for an international information technology and data marketing firm, where she primarily drafted and negotiated contracts with a wide variety of companies. Her clients ranged from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies and Stanton advised on the sale of services and procurement of data for marketing and analytic purposes as well as contributed to privacy impact assessments. Stanton is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and has also been a commercial real estate compliance officer with the nation’s fifth largest commercial bank.
