Insurance Regulatory Attorney Jeff McWhirt Joins Firm

(LITTLE ROCK Ark.) — Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. announces attorney Jeff McWhirt has joined the firm’s insurance regulatory practice.   

Jeff has extensive experience in insurance law and insurance regulation, including excess and surplus lines. Combining his insurance knowledge with his previous experience as a deputy chief compliance officer for a large international specialty insurance broker, Jeff provides clients with pragmatic solutions in navigating the complex insurance regulatory environment to achieve their business objectives.

He represents insurance agents and brokers, managing underwriters, surplus lines brokers and insurance carriers in nationwide legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Communicating with and facilitating interactions with state departments of insurance, insurance regulators and investigators, Jeff conducts insurance regulatory due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and manages insurance agent and broker acquisitions.

Jeff is a member of the Surplus Lines Law Group and a member of Securities & Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) Surplus Lines Subgroup Steering Committee. He is a Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association (WSIA) Marcus Payne Advanced E & S Instructor and a SILA Surplus Lines Advanced Class Instructor.

Jeff earned a juris doctor from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in political science from Northwest Missouri State University.
