2025 Summer I Law Clerks Join Mitchell Williams

(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) – Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. welcomes six law clerks for the 2025 Summer I term. Law students Keira Newland, Julia Matchett and Jayson Rowley are clerking in the firm’s Little Rock office. Clerking in the firm’s Rogers office are law students Kennedy Hill, Jack Lyall and Diana Marrero.
Keira Newland is attending law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law where she has earned Top Papers in Torts, Civil Procedure II, Reading, Writing and Analysis II, Evidence and Constitutional Law. She graduated summa cum laude from Hendrix College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in politics and a minor in Spanish.
Julia Matchett is a law student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law where she is a member of the UA Little Rock Law Review and earned Top Paper in Contracts II. She also served as the part-time honor investigator for the Student Bar Association. She earned a Master of Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and holds a Bachelor of Science Business Administration, cum laude, in energy management with a minor in finance from the University of Tulsa.
Jayson Rowley is a law student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law where he serves as vice president of the Student Bar Association and is a Rule XV student attorney with the Business Innovations Legal Clinic. He is also a member of Delta Theta Phi law fraternity. He is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in criminology.
Kennedy Hill is a law student at the University of Arkansas School of Law where she is president of the Student Bar Association and a staff editor for the Arkansas Law Review. She earned the 2025 Top Individual Score in Trial Advocacy and was Top Student in Legal Research and Writing I. Having earned both a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Arkansas, Hill is an adjunct instructor of undergraduate political science courses.
Jack Lyall is a law student at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law where he serves as president of the Business Law Association and is an articles editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal. He received a CALI Award in Trial Advocacy and was a tutor for Legal Research, Analysis, and Writing I & II. He earned a Bachelor of Science Business Administration in both finance and marketing from the University of Arkansas.
Diana Marrero is a law student at the University of Arkansas School of Law where she is a member of the Arkansas Law Review, having previously served as a staff editor, and serves as treasurer of the Immigration Law Society. She is also a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in history with highest distinction from the University of Arkansas.
The Mitchell Williams Law Clerk program is designed to provide law students with experience to develop the skills necessary to excel in the practice of law. Law clerks are assigned substantive, challenging and billable work to expand their skills and they actively assist lawyers.
