Mitchell Williams Attorney Stuart Spencer Presented at the Arkansas Environmental Federation's 52nd Annual Convention

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Attorney Stuart Spencer presented last week at the Arkansas Environmental Federation’s 52nd Annual Convention. His presentation discussed global to local recycling trends. 

Spencer focuses his practice on environmental, energy, and natural resources issues. His wealth of environmental and regulatory experience was gained from having served in various legal and managerial positions at the Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for roughly 10 years. At DEQ, Spencer served as the Office of Air Quality (OAQ) Associate Director. In his role as OAQ Associate Director, he was the senior manager of major Clean Air Act programs including implementation of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards, Title V and New Source Review permitting, the Clean Power Plan and its successor, the Affordable Clean Energy Rule, and Regional Haze. He also served as DEQ's Legal Policy Advisor and as General Counsel and served as an attorney in DEQ’s Office of Law and Policy. He applies his broad experience as an environmental regulator to advise industry clients on a wide range of complex legal issues.

About the Arkansas Environmental Federation

The Arkansas Environmental Federation’s (AEF) Regulated Waste Committee works to educate its members on issues such as landfill permitting and operations, hazardous waste incineration and transporting, groundwater remediation, waste reduction and recycling, environmental trust funds, inspections and enforcement initiatives. The committee also plans and conducts an annual Regulated Waste Regulations Update Seminar and a regulated waste segment at the AEF’s Annual Convention & Trade Show designed to educate industries on their obligations in dealing with waste products. The committee meets at the call of the Chair and is open to all AEF members in good standing. Member companies may have more than one representative on the Regulated Waste Committee.
