Mitchell Williams advises employers on all aspects of labor relations with unionized workforces and workplaces facing unionization drives.

Our labor relations team:

  • Trains managers in effective procedures to prevent union organizing campaigns

  • Advises on informational campaign strategies to avert unionization and/or decertify unions

  • Negotiates collective bargaining agreements

  • Advises employers on the interpretation and enforcement of companies’ rights under the collective bargaining agreements, including contract and discharge grievances

  • Represents employers in unfair labor practice proceedings, including adversary proceedings before the NLRB and state agencies

  • Obtains injunctions to prevent unlawful picketing, hand billing and not cargo refusals

  • Advises clients on strike preparation and strike-related issues, as well as strike-related litigation

  • Counsels clients on compliance with OSHA and other statutes designed to enhance workplace safety

  • Advises on the purchase, sale or consolidation of unionized facilities to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations and to advance the organization's labor relations strategy
