Attorney Tracy Bowden Joins Firm in Austin

Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. announces that Tracy Horton Bowden has joined the firm as Counsel in Austin. Bowden focuses her practice on representing insurance carriers, managing general agencies, brokers, and service providers to the insurance industry with regard to corporate, regulatory, and litigated matters.

Bowden has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry which includes serving as managing director of a portfolio of managing general agents that wrote more than $400M in annual gross written premiums. She served as the U.S. general counsel, corporate secretary, and chief compliance officer for a major insurance carrier focused on specialty and program property and casualty commercial and personal lines business written on both an admitted and surplus lines basis. She has also served as counsel representing insurance and reinsurance companies, managing general agencies/program administrators, brokers/retail agencies, third party administrators, and outsourced service providers. 

She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law. She has her bachelor’s of business administration in accounting from the University of Texas School of Business.

Bowden is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Insurance Law section of the State Bar. She was recognized by Insurance Business magazine as an Elite Woman in Insurance in 2016.
