LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates and Woodyard, P.L.L.C. Member Jane Duke has been selected to serve as faculty at the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy, one of the country's oldest and most respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills, in the summer of 2018 at the Stanford Law School in Palo Alto, California.
Trial Academy is a program of the International Association of Defense Counsel that attracts top defense attorneys from across the country. As a faculty member, Duke will develop and conduct courses throughout the seven-day intensive training session. Duke previously attended Trial Academy as a participant in 2000.
Duke is a former United States Attorney and a seasoned trial lawyer with significant grand jury, courtroom, trial and appellate experience. She joined the firm’s litigation section after serving nearly 11 years with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas in the criminal division.
At Mitchell Williams, Duke serves on the litigation team in the Little Rock office. She represents insurance companies, corporations and individuals in cases involving negligence, professional liability and breach of duty. She also handles white collar criminal defense cases, represents corporations regarding internal investigations and fraud perpetrated by employees and can direct internal investigations of corporations regarding breach of policy, as well as government and regulatory compliance matters.
The International Association of Defense Counsel is an invitation-only organization whose members are, “a powerful and select group with advanced skills in defense law.” The Trial Academy was started in 1973.
