Professional Experience

Mr. Newton served as a former Assistant Attorney General for the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office from 1995 to 2000. He represented the State of Arkansas in criminal appeals in state and federal court and drafted legislation. He later became Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas from January 2000 to October 2006. Mr. Newton prosecuted a variety of criminal cases including computer crimes, public corruption, and asset forfeiture.

Mr. Newton joined Mitchell Williams in November 2006 and started the Firm’s Information Management and Security practice team. The practice team places an emphasis on data security and electronic discovery issues, including advising clients on security policies and procedures, crisis response plans, record retention policies, as well as planning for and responding to discovery requests for electronically stored information.
