Tom Fox of FTN Associates notes the recent release of a Mobile App (“Mobile App”) by the United States Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (“PHMSA”).
The Mobile App is free and addresses the agency’s Emergency Response Guidebook 2016.
PHMSA describes the Mobile App as a safety tool providing:
. . .the nation’s emergency responders with vast, easily accessible information to help them manage hazardous material incidents. The software is available from Apple iTunes store for iPhone, and from the Google Play website for Android.
Tom Fox notes in reference to the Mobile App:
As PHMSA notes in its disclaimers, there is no replacement for the paper copy when used for emergency communications, but I found the desktop and the Apple version powerful and easy to use. The mobile version will even overlay the ERG minimum distance from a spill on the phone map software for you.
A link to the mobile app can be found here.
