An article in the publication Recycling Today states that Clean Harbors El Dorado, Arkansas incineration facility has achieved the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (“OSHA”) “Star Level”.
OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program classifies “Star Level” as the highest possible category of the program in terms of implementation of effective safety and management system (while maintaining injury and illness rates below national average in the respective industry).
The OSHA Voluntary Protection Program is a comprehensive health and safety process that requires employee involvement, management support, and cooperation with OSHA.
The Recycling Today article quotes Clean Harbors El Dorado facility manager, Daniel Roblee, as stating:
… We truly appreciate all the work that all the 300-plus El Dorado facility employees have put in to allow us to be recertified for VPP star status… Our employees’ commitment to safety is elevated as to a status that few companies ever achieve. Thanks to everyone at the facility for your contribution to our impressive 2015 safety record and for making the honor possible.
The El Dorado, Arkansas facility specializes in the treatment of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act regulated waste and non-hazardous waste requiring high temperature incineration.
