The National Association of Manufacturers (“NAM”) issued a May 2016 report titled the Economic Benefits of Natural Gas Pipeline Development on the Manufacturing Sector (“Report”).
The Report was prepared for NAM by IHS Economics.
The Report addresses the increase in domestic natural gas production in the United States and considers its impact on the nation’s ability to compete in the global economy (especially in regards to manufacturing). The Report examines in particular the impact of the expansion of natural gas pipeline infrastructure and its benefits on the United States manufacturing sector. The impact of lower natural gas pricing on consumer purchasing, business profitability, cost of competiveness for domestic manufacturers (relative to their international competitors) are addressed.
