The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) issued an April 15th news release announcing the finalists for the Arkansas Technology Award (“TECHe Award”) and the ENVY Award.
ADEQ will announce the winners on Earth Day, which is April 22nd.
The finalists for the TECHe Award are:
- Aerojet Rocketdyne Solar Farm – East Camden
- FTN Associates, Ltd. – Little Rock
- Goodwill Industries of Arkansas
ADEQ describes the TECHe Award as:
… recognition for advances or innovative use of technology that breaks new ground in protecting resources or improving the environment by going beyond traditional environmental control measures, approaches, or outcomes.
The finalists for the ENVY Award are:
- Central Arkansas Water
- Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas
- Kraft Heinz Co. – Fort Smith
- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control’s Camden Operations
- YEA! Team (Youth Environmental Ambassadors)
Kraft Heinz and the YEA! Team were ENVY finalists last year.
The ENVY Award is described as recognizing:
… a major contribution by an individual or organization for efforts to enhance and protect Arkansas’ natural resources through sustainability programs and commitments to stewardship of the environment.
The news release contains descriptions of the activities that resulted in each of the finalists being chosen.
