The Beautiful Buffalo River Action Committee (“Committee”) has scheduled a public information meeting for December 8th in Marshall, Arkansas.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a voluntary watershed-based management plan for the Buffalo River Watershed.
As noted in a previous post, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced the formation of the Committee whose purpose is to establish an Arkansas-led approach to identify and address potential issues of concern in the Buffalo River Watershed through the development of a non-regulatory, watershed-based management plan. See previous blog post here.
The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission is stated to have received funding from a United States Environmental Protection Agency multi-purpose grant to establish a Buffalo River Watershed Management Plan.
The Committee’s first meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Searcy County Civic Center gym (515 Zack Road). The meeting is projected to last approximately two hours. All stakeholders with interest in the Buffalo River Watershed Management Plan are encouraged to attend.
The news release announcing the meeting can be downloaded here.
