The Winter 2016 edition of the Beaver Water District (“BWD”) publication The Source announced that the Northwest Arkansas water utility received the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (“AMWA”) Platinum Award for Utility Excellence.
The AMWA is a Washington, D.C. based organization consisting of the largest publically owned drinking water suppliers in the United States.
BWD was one of five winners of the award honored on October 17th at the AMWA’s 2016 Executive Management Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The award recognizes water utilities that have made a commitment to management that achieves a balance of innovative and successful efforts in areas of economic, social and environmental endeavors.
The recipients of BWD drinking water include the cities of Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville. The utility pumps approximately 45 million gallons of Beaver Lake water to its facilities in Lowell, Arkansas for treatment on a daily basis.
