Act 335 of 2015 provided the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) and the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission (“Commission”) the authority to develop a nutrient water quality trading program.
The legislation also provided for the creation of a “Nutrient Water Quality Trading Advisory Panel” (“Panel”).
The Panel presumably will play a role in assisting ADEQ and Commission in developing regulations and related guidance necessary to establish an Arkansas water quality trading program.
The Arkansas Environmental Federation passes along word that the Panel will meet for the first time on September 15th. The time for the meeting is 2:00 in the ADEQ Commission Room.
