The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) issued a news release announcing it is offering a number of free training classes across the state to assist Clean Water Act National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (“NPDES”) permit holders in meeting a federal deadline for electronic reporting.
Classes will be also offered at ADEQ’s North Little Rock headquarters.
ADEQ notes that NPDES permittees must begin submitting discharge monitoring reports (“DMRs”) electronically by December 21, 2016. The agency also states Arkansas permittees will use the free web-based NetDMR tool accessible at https://netdmr.zendesk.com/home. This site is stated to allow users to create an account and also acquire training material. The deadline for enrolling in NetDMR is December 21st.
Training classes are stated to be designed for labs, contractors, consultants, individuals designated by permittees as signatory authorities, and facility personnel who will be entering or editing DMR data. The training sessions will be held at Hope, Forrest City, Monticello, Springdale, Hot Springs and North Little Rock.
The news release also discusses the federal rule that is mandating this procedure and information on registration and locations of the training sessions.
