The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“Alliance”) announced it is seeking applicants for an Outreach Coordinator position.
The Alliance states that its mission is to proactively protect, enhance and sustain the water quality of Beaver Lake and the integrity of its watershed through region education, voluntary best management practices implementation, and scientific investigation.
The Alliance describes the position as including:
. . .working with a wide range of partners to conduct a broad scope of outreach and educational programs ranging from environmental stewardship event to one-on-one property visits to landowners.
The position is also stated to include work that helps achieve the organization’s purpose and objectives by assisting with office, data and volunteer management, stakeholder outreach, education programming, technical assistance, newsletter development and distribution, and grant writing.
The Alliance states that it will consider qualified candidates who can demonstrate the following characteristics:
- Interest in water quality issues in Northwest Arkansas
- Experience with programs addressing water quality and natural resource management
- Willingness to carry out the mission of the Alliance
- Energetic
- Organized
- Experience working with volunteers
- Ability to work with a culturally and politically diverse community
- Ability to work with agricultural, business, government and environmental communities
- Diplomatic
- Self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Embraces team work
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to inspire and motivate
- Effective at conflict management
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge of biology, crops, soils, environmental science, fisheries
- Familiar with water quality best management practices
- Computer and software literate, GIS experience
