The Arkansas Environmental Education Association (“AEEA”) has scheduled their bi-annual Environmental Education Expo for June 21-23 at the Ozark Natural Science Center which is in the Huntsville, Arkansas area.
The theme of the expo is Beyond the Classroom: Environmental Education from the Ozarks to the Delta.
AEEA describes itself as a networking and information based organization that works with educators, students, business, government, and the general public to increase awareness and knowledge about the environment.
The conference will focus on outdoor environmental education and include trips to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge and field sessions in the vicinity of the Ozark Natural Science Center. The event also includes pre-conference activities such as a float on the Kings River, rattlesnake field research and a pontoon boat excursion on Beaver Lake.
Keynote speakers include:
- Dr. John Guyton (Co-founder of the Mississippi Environmental Education Alliance), Associate Professor, Mississippi State University, Entomology Department
- Maggie Johnston (President of the Environmental Education Association of Alabama), McDowell Education Programs, Director, Nauvoo, Alabama
The conference is open to the public.
