The American Chemistry Council (“ACC”) issued a news release noting that the United States Chemical Industry investment in natural gas and natural gas liquids from shale formations has reached $164 billion.
The announcement references 264 projects (i.e., new facilities, expansions and factory restarts) of which 40% are completed or underway and 55% are in the planning phase.
The investment figures were presented at a Hudson Institute event titled America’s Future Natural Gas Economy: Promoting the Next Energy Breakthrough. ACC Senior Director of Energy Policy Owen Kean undertook a presentation titled Natural Gas and American Manufacturing Hudson Institute.
