October 7, 8, and 9, 2010
Omaha, NE
The 2010 AALA conference will provide important and updated information to everyone involved in agriculture
including practitioners, students, corporate attorneys, counsel in government agencies, and those involved in
development of agricultural environmental or energy policy. The theme of the 2010 conference is: Sustainable and
Global Agriculture in Unsettled Economic Times.
Traditional updates will be provided which are essential for every practitioner to know: commercial law,
environmental law, agricultural bankruptcy, tax law, sustainability, organics, energy, food law, and farm bill issues.
There will be individual break-out sessions which will expand the themes from the updates and introduce new topics,
such as social media and expanding technology, new concerns in food safety and regulation, good agricultural
practices in the EU and US, agricultural competition for water and issues in animal law. Other topics will include
livestock production, wind energy, climate change and bioenergy, crop insurance and land use. There will also be
two sessions in ethics which will cover multi-jurisdictional practice and representing conservation easement clients.
The conference will also feature expanded opportunities for student participants who will present current research
projects during the student symposium.
We look forward to seeing you in Omaha! There will be numerous opportunities to network and socialize with
colleagues. Registration materials and the most current schedule of events are also available online at www.aglawassn.org.
